Knife is any cutting edge or knife, handheld or otherwise, with or without handles. The first knife least two-and-a-half million years ago, as evidenced by the Oldowan tools. Knives originally made of stone, flint, and obsidian. Knife has evolved in the construction of a technology. It has been with the knife made of bronze, copper, iron, steel, ceramics, and titanium. You may ever see them in the blade shop. You see, every culture has a unique version of the knife. Knives can be either fixed-blade or folding knife with a version of the pattern and style that varies as the manufacturer and country of origin.
You know, the knife can be made from various materials; each of them has advantages and disadvantages. You should know that carbon steel, alloy steel and carbon, can be very sharp; it hold down the edges well, and remain easy to sharpen, however it is susceptible to rust and stains.
Stainless steel is the alloy of iron, chromium, possibly nickel, and molybdenum, with only a small amount of carbon. Since is less of carbon, then this is not sharp enough to accept such as excess carbon steel, but it has highly resistant to corrosion. High carbon stainless steel is stainless steel with a higher amount of carbon, which is intended to combine the properties of better carbon steel and stainless steel. High carbon steel blades do not discolor or stain, and keep sharp.
Do you know laminate blade? Laminate blades usually use multiple metals to make a sandwich, combining the properties of both. What about else? Titanium is a metal that has a better power-to-weight ratio, more wear resistant, and more flexible than steel. Although less hard and unable to take advantage of sharp, however carbide in titanium alloy allows them to be heat-treated with sufficient force. Ceramic blade is hard, brittle, and light.
